The Bird Hunter
In this hunting scene we see the bird-dog pointing to the heavy undergrowth. Look close and you will see his pray. The hunter is poised with flintlock ready. My son was hiking on this trail when I got the inspiration for this painting. As a matter of fact the hunter is he, only at the time he was probably 10 or 11 years old. With a paintbrush you can make many changes. I really enjoyed painting the heavy detail and lighting. I think the foliage came out great. This is one of my favorite works. The scene is from Letchworth State Park in western New York State.
