Cabin Flowers
While I was back in Indiana I came across a little park filled with log cabins. Behind one of the cabins were these wild flowers and I thought they made a nice contrast against the rustic wood and stone chimney of the cabin. I liked the foliage and the shadows, along with the color of the flowers. This is one of those simple scenes overlooked by most people. In mid 19th century England there was a movement by artists to paint small compositions of small detailed natural subjects. They were finding the beauty in nature within the small parts, rather than the grand panoramic landscapes popular with American artists
