Captain Stark's Patrol
Deep in the wilderness two members of the famous Rogers Rangers are on a scouting expedition. Robert Rogers is famous for establishing this unique group of rangers during a time when the armies of the world fought in line and column on open fields. Rogers was born in New Hampshire and learned the ways of the wilderness as a boy. When the French and Indian War broke out he developed a group of ranges who fought Indian style and relied on the wilderness for their protection. He is quoted as telling his men to track the enemy as you would a deer. His men wore regular frontier clothing of leggings, hunting shirts, and the famous highland bonnet. Rogers’ tactics were revolutionary for that period, and led to the development of today’s Army Rangers, Green Berets, and Navy SEALS.
