Early Morning Light
I found this scene while exploring the loft of an old building. The lighting was very dramatic and I knew it would make a great painting. 17th century Dutch artist Jon Vermeer is one of my favorite painters. He was a master of light and often placed a window in his work. This painting is in the same genre. The bedroom shows the washstand with the bowl and pitcher highlighted in the darkness. The bedpost adds to the balance of the composition. This is one of my favorite paintings.
