The Mill Pond
The local grist mill was a vital part of early American life. The miller would grind the farmer’s wheat and corn and take in trade a portion of his product instead of money. These mills dotted the America landscape and became a symbol of the quaint country lifestyle. This mill has beautifully restored with the natural fieldstone’s and the undershot waterwheel. I concentrated my composition on the wildflowers and weeds in the foreground with the mill pond behind catching some of the reflections of America past.
