Small Town Connecticut
This quaint country street is in Mystic Seaport Village. I was inspired by this scene last October while the fall colors framed the buildings. This seaport town was an active whaling center in the 19th century. Many of the small shops that lined the streets were involved in the seafaring trades. Everything from sign carving to sail making and fittings. There are wonderful shadows controlled painting. and colors in this New England scene. It is a very tight controlled painting depicting the charm of a New England whaling town.
