Woodland Scout
Colonial scouts were used by both sides during the French and Indian War. Communication was vital, and information gathered by these scouts led to the understanding of troop movements and their intentions. These able bodied woodsmen were familiar with the trails and water routes used within the American wilderness. They traveled light and fast recording their findings to memory. Without the assistance of the colonial scouts major plans of attack would have been impossible to formulate.
